Ukraine’s DARA Group and China’s agricultural corporation Huangfan District Agricultural Corp. have announced that the two groups have agreed to jointly invest US$58 million into Ukraine’s agriculture sector through endeavors in the country’s northern region of Chernigov. Over the next five years the two companies will invest $17.5 million into grain crop production, $25 million into cattle breeding, and $15.5 million into pig farming. The joint company, Chinese-Ukrainian Agricultural Company, or FANDA, plans to employ modern and advanced agricultural technologies to increase production and improve the quality of the agricultural products produced.
