Asia’s Appetite for Australian Dairy Grows

Twenty eight percent of Bega Cheese’s sales are attributed to sale to Asian markets. Despite climbing prices resulting from intense competition demand from Asian markets for dairy looks positive. Bega has announced it will be investing $25 million to increase its milk supply by 25% over the next three years to be able to meet forecasted growth.  Bega reported a $66 million profit for 2013/14 – a year on year increase of 160% after the company sold its holdings in Warrnambool Cheese and Butter to Canada’s Saputo after a protracted three-way bidding war.
