The 8,900 hectare rural holding Linketters Place in Western Australia which was originally developed by U.S. television host Art Linkletter in the 1950’s was acquired nine years ago by the ASX-listed Agricultural Land Trust and planted in bluegum trees. This was soon followed by the collapse of Great Southern and Timbercrop causing a dramatic drop in values. Linletters is now being operated by One Investment Group which plans to remove the existing forestry plantation from the property over the course of the next 18 months and return the property to grazing and cropping use. The remediation is expected to bring the value of the land from $12.9 million to between $28.5 and $29 million. The group plans to streamline the operation and lease it out in a long-term play as a ‘counter cyclical investment opportunity’. To read further:
