The BioMar Group and the Sagun Group have announced the formation of a joint venture fish feed company in Turkey that will enter operation by the end of 2015 and will supply feed to Turkey and surrounding countries. Turkey’s aquaculture production has grown to 200,000 tons per year to make the country the second largest aquaculture nation in Europe after Norway, supplying not only its domestic market but exporting sea bass, sea bream, and trout to the European market. BioMar is the leading supplier of high performance fish feed for sea bass, sea bream, and trout in Europe, and the Sagun Group is a privately held company consisting of five companies operating eight aquaculture production facilities across Turkey.
