Blumberg Grain Looking to Invest in Food Manufacturing, Processing and Storage in India

U.S.-based Blumberg Grain is seeking opportunities to partner with Indian companies to invest in food manufacturing, processing, and food security systems which Blumberg states can reduce India’s post-harvest losses from the current 50% to less than 5% through the use of the company’s state of the art technologies. Blumberg has been making inroads and increasing its presence in global emerging economies. It was recently announced that Blumberg was chosen to develop Egypt’s new grain infrastructure system encompassing 93 sites across the country which will have the yearly capacity to process 3.7 million tons of wheat, and which will have the use of 3.6 million square feet of storage space. Blumberg is also developing Nigeria’s cold chain storage system for produce and perishables which will be the largest on the continent. Phillip Blumberg, CEO of Blumberg Grain states that the company had previously considered investing in India, but has determined that the country’s New Prime Minister, Modi’s business initiatives, and campaign to improve agriculture and address food security for the country, is conducive to the company’s objectives.
