Brief: Two Raleigh, North Carolina Ag-Focused Private Equity Groups Raise Funds

Two agriculture-focused private equity funds based in Raleigh, North Carolina – Growers Holdings and TA GCIV I LLC – have closed on fundraisings totaling a combined $1 million.

 

Growers Holdings raised funds from two investors and TA GCIV raised their funds from five investors, including Old Mac Partners and Tiverton Advisors.

 

Raleigh-based Old Mac Partners currently manages more than 125,000 acres of farmland, 70,000 dairy cows, 2.5 million bushels of grain, and 2.5 million tons of hay storage, and invests in dairy, poultry, nursery, and storage businesses.

 

The founder of Old Mac, David Chattleton, is also the managing partner of Tiverton Advisors, which manages more than $1.25 billion in agriculture assets including more than 100,000 acres of farmland throughout the U.S.
