U.S. dairy cooperative, Select Milk Producers, is investing $250 million to convert the American Cotton Growers denim mill in Littlefield, Texas into a milk processing facility, according to an announcement by the Southwest Council of Agribusiness.
New Mexico-based Select Milk Producers, which is owned by dairy farmers across Texas, New Mexico, and the Midwest is perhaps best known for Farilife – the co-operative’s joint venture with Coca-Cola for the production of Farilife value-added milk products and Core Power brand products.
Established in 1975, The American Cotton Grower denim mill was shuttered in January of this year with the loss of 340 jobs.
