CBH Group, Western Australia’s key grain handling and marketing company announced it will invest a total of $185 million into enhancing its network performance. The announcement came upon the heels of Bunge investing up to $40 million in port facilities in Bunburry including 50,000 tons of storage with exports expected to begin in May. Bunge has announced it will pay a premium to buy unsold grain held in Co-operative Bulk Handling receival sites in Western Australia. CBH counters that the grower-ownership of it supply chain and investments held outside of Western Australia which the co-op rebates off of storage and handling fees will be key to maintaining its competitiveness.
