DuPont Pioneer and Perdue Agribusiness have announced that Perdue will more than double its contracted acreage of Plenish high-oleic soybeans in the region of is Salisbury, Maryland facility in 2014 for use in the food industry in 2015. DuPont’s Plenish high-oleic soybeans offer a trans-fat alternative to food companies and the food service industry containing the highest oleic content (75%) of any commercial soybean product while having zero trans fats per serving and 20% less saturated fat than commodity soybean oil. DuPont’s Plenish soybeans are approaching complete global regulatory approval with over 96% of markets granting approval.
