Projections by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization state that global consumption of fish will grow to 22.5 kg per capita by 2030 and currently half of the fish consumed is grown on farms. Key raw materials such as fish oil and fishmeal remain supply constrained and price should continue an upward trend. Peru is expected to remain the largest exporter of fishmeal. Chile will remain number two in fish oil and number three in fishmeal, however in terms of influencing global supply demand dynamics Peru will remain dominant.
