The Hershey Co. is making its largest investment in Asia in the company’s history. The company is building a US$250 million confectionery plant in Malaysia to serve the 25 markets within the Asia region.  The new Malaysia-based plant will complement production at Hershey’s joint venture plant in China where demand for Hershey’s products is growing faster than in any other market.  The facility will be completed in 2015 and will be one of the largest facilities in the company’s manufacturing network which spans the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and China.  Hershey expects $1 billion in sales per year by the end of 2014 and this latest investment in Asia is part of the company’s growth goal of achieving $10 billion in annual revenue by 2017.  Hershey Co. has more than 80 brands sold in 70 countries and is among the 500 largest U.S. companies.
