Kwality Plans to Invest Rs300 Crore (US$49.11 million) on Expansion of Dairy Biz

Indian dairy firm Kwality Ltd plans to invest US$49.11 million to expand its operations and its product offering adding more value-added products to its portfolio.  Kwality posted a turnover of Rs3,700 crore (US$605.7 million) for 2012/13 and is predicting 20%-25% growth this year. The company plans to strengthen its procurement capacity and increase its number of milk chilling centers from 22 to 90 over the next two to three years.  The company also plans to launch lines of flavored milk, yogurt, cheese, and UHT milk, and has established a subsidiary in United Arab Emirates that is involved in the exportation and importation of skimmed milk powder, ghee, butter, and other dairy products.
