Marine Harvest Becomes First Aquaculture Firm on NYSE

Norwegian salmon farming company Marine Harvest is the first aquaculture company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).  The listing will expose the company to the wider community of U.S. investors including those not mandated to invest in Norway and the company will further benefit by being associated with other U.S. listed land-based protein companies.  Marine Harvest CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog states that the company has a market cap of approximately $5 billion and ownership of approximately 22% of the global population of farmed Atlantic salmon.
