Of the US$4 billion needed to carry out Mozambique’s National Agricultural Sector Investment Plan, only 19% is available. The country intends to raise the remaining 81% from private investors. The National Agricultural Sector Investment Plan would implement the Strategic Agricultural Development Plan over a 10 year period. The plan focuses on 6 agricultural development projects: Maputo, Limpopo, Beira, Zambezi Valley, Nacala and Pemba/Lichinga and will focus on a small number of products seen as critical for national objectives of ensuring food security.
