Phatisa Says Closes African Agriculture Fund at $243 Million

Private equity firm Phatisa has closed its largest fund – the African Agriculture Fund which was begun in 2011 after securing $243 million in commitments.  Phatisa has invested $84 million of the fund into nine projects across seven African countries ranging from palm oil in Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo, to poultry farming in Zambia.  Phatisa plans to invest half of the equity by the end of 2013
