Russia and Ukraine have already sold abroad more than 20 million tons of wheat this season and have almost exhausted their exportable supply for the 2012-13 season due to lower harvests last year and higher prices. Last week Ukraine, the sixth largest wheat exporter this year lifted restrictions on wheat sales and analysts expect the country to sell an additional 300,000 tons increasing competition in the global market. Russia, the world’s third largest wheat exporter has already shipped 15 million tons since the start of the 2012-13 season surpassing forecasts.
