Jenaan Investment, one of the UAE’s largest agricultural and livestock investment companies has signed a strategic partnership with South African-company Suidwes. Jenaan currently has three agricultural projects in Sudan encompassing 55,000 hectares producing alfalfa hay, Sudan grass, and millet. Suidwes will act as a technical advisor providing detailed soil chemical analysis and correction recommendations in order to increase production, lower costs and mitigate risk. By 2015 1.4 million tons of livestock foliage is expected to be harvested. The partnership will eventually expand to include rice, corn and wheat production as well. Jenaan Investment has agricultural projects in the U.S., Spain, Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia totally a portfolio of approximately $500 million. Suidwes is one of South Africa’s largest agricultural financing companies that provides technical advice to agricultural projects totaling 13.5 million hectares, with annual revenue turnover of $600 million.
