U.S.-based SG Biofuels is looking for a venture capital partner who has experience in the geographies of Southeast Asia and Africa specifically related to agriculture and energy to expand its business into these markets. Currently the company is exploring ways to extract oil from jatropha- the seeds of which are processed to make oil for biodiesel and jet fuel. SG Biofuels operates an 86,000 acre jatropha plantation in India in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum, and is planting a further 75,000 acres of the crop in Brazil in collaboration with Airbus.
