Uganda-based agribusiness venture capitalist Pearl Capital Partners launched its Africa Agricultural Capital Fund worth approximately KES 2.2 billion (approximately US$25 million). The fund will be used to finance small, growing agribusinesses and general agriculture companies in East Africa engaged in businesses such as agro-processing, irrigation systems and seed development. Seventy five percent of the fund will be invested in the key East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
