USDA to Financially Back Advanced Biofuel Production

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing approximately $60 million into the production of advanced biofuels.  Through the Advanced Biofuel Payment Program which was established in 2008 and was continued through the 2014 Farm Bill, the USDA will make payments to 195 advanced biofuel producers totaling almost $60 million.  The eligibility of each producer will be based on the amount of advanced biofuel produced from renewable sources.  The feedstocks that qualify for the program are vegetable oil, animal fat, and animal and food waste.
